This project was filmed before the official release of the Sony FX5. At that time, no accessories yet existed for this camera, simply because it had not yet been released.
That's where the Rig'it X came in.
A universal rig, ready for the FX5.
The Rig'it X was not designed for the FX5. It already existed as a universal Arca-Swiss mounting module, designed to adapt to most cameras on the market.
On this shoot, carried out before the camera's official release, all it took was an Arca-Swiss attachment to equip the FX5 via the provided plate, a stabilizer plate, and get a real cinema rig: accessorizable thanks to the upper and lower threaded plates, and fully powered (camera and accessories) thanks to the Rig'it X.
That's the real strength of a system designed to be universal from the start: it's already ready for the next camera you buy.
Designed to fit a wide range of cameras
The Rig'it X is based on an Arca-Swiss mount, allowing it to adapt to a wide range of cameras and configurations: tripod, shoulder, gimbal, handheld. A detailed video tutorial is provided after purchase to guide the installation and adjustment of the module.
Some elements that make a difference in the field:
- Full power via V-Mount plate, for extended autonomy.
- 4 D-Tap outputs (10A max) and 2 USB-C Power Delivery ports, to power camera and accessories from a single source, via a simple cable.
- Master switch, to turn the entire rig on or off with a single gesture.
- Adjustable and sliding screen support (max screen height 6 cm), to protect and use the screen as needed.
- Modular mounts: 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads on the upper and lower plates.
- Integrated AirTag hatch (AirTag not supplied), to locate the rig if lost.
- Modular cable passages for clean cabling (cable management kit available separately).
⚠️ It is not recommended to attach a top handle directly to the Rig'it X module.
Proven on a Sony production, in real conditions
A rig is judged in the field, not on a demo table.
The Rig'it X accompanied the Sony FX5 on a production filmed for Sony Europe, directed by Duncan Bonnifay, for seven days, across several locations in the Canary Islands: beaches, dunes, volcanic environments, canyons.
Sand, sea spray, endless assembly and disassembly, constant movement between locations: the rig endured everything a real shoot can inflict on equipment. It held up, and that's the only validation that truly matters.
